About us

Less to chase between two homes

Our aim is simple: make life between two homes a little calmer for children and the adults who look after them, with a shared calendar that stays neutral and keeps private things private.

Why I built it

Built by a dad who needed it

I'm George, and I've been co-parenting for eight years. I have two sons, and my wife Amy has a son and a daughter from her previous relationship, so our family runs on two separate arrangements across three homes.

The boys' mum and I have always got on. We agreed our arrangement between the two of us and have changed it as the boys have grown. One of them has additional needs, so keeping in close touch with their mum has mattered from the start.

Most of our planning still happens on WhatsApp. When something has gone wrong for us, it was almost always because a plan got lost in a message. I tried co-parenting apps along the way, but none of them clicked with how we wanted to co-parent. One made me sit through adverts every time I opened the calendar.

So I started building the app I wanted. Two Front Doors is a calm calendar that both homes share, where nothing changes until the other parent accepts it. Your own diary stays private. I run my own business and have built this alongside it, starting from the problems our family deals with week to week.

The name

The children have two front doors. Whatever else changes, they should always know which one they're walking through on Friday.

If you're just starting out

Think hard about the routine, because it holds everything else up.

Principles

What we hold ourselves to

Neutral by design

We never take sides. The app says “with Blake” or “with you”, never whose weekend it is.

Private by default

Your own calendar is yours. The other parent sees the family side only.

Nothing changes without agreement

Parenting time only changes when both parents say yes. Silence is never a yes.

Honest about limits

We say what the app can’t do, including that it isn’t court-approved and doesn’t give legal advice.

One subscription covers everyone

Either parent can subscribe for the whole family calendar, and paying never gives anyone more control.

Calm, not sticky

No feeds, no chat, no streaks. Open it when you need it, then get on with your day.

The company

Two Front Doors is run by Rankibl Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 11606978.
